We're a Lanoguard application centre in Bletchley. Lanoguard is a lanolin-based underbody protection that helps stop rust taking hold. The car goes up on our lift, the wheel arch liners come off where needed, and the underside and arches are treated.

How we apply Lanoguard
The photos below are from one job, a Honda Freed treated in our workshop.
1
Up on the lift
The car goes up on the two-post lift and the floor is sheeted to catch any drips.
2
Arch liners off
Where needed, the wheel arch liners come off so the treatment reaches the metal behind them.
3
Underside and arches treated
The arches, floor, subframes and underbody are coated, then the liners go back on.
What Lanoguard say about their product
It's based on lanolin, from sheep's wool, with corrosion inhibitors added.
It can go over surface rust, but loose or flaking rust should be removed first.
It's translucent, so the metal underneath can still be inspected.
It stays oily at first and is dry to the touch after about 7 to 10 days.
It should be topped up at least once a year.

Rust that has gone too far
Protection works best on sound metal. If rust has already eaten through a sill or a floor, we can weld in new steel first, then treat the area so it lasts.
Undersealing and cavity wax
As well as Lanoguard, we offer full undersealing and cavity wax oil. Tell us about your car and how you use it, and we'll talk you through the options.

How often does Lanoguard need doing?
Lanoguard say it should be topped up at least once a year.
Can it go on a car that already has some rust?

Do you do traditional undersealing too?
Yes. As well as Lanoguard, we offer full undersealing and cavity wax oil. Tell us about your car and we'll talk you through the options.
Will I be able to see the metal afterwards?
